Dear Kentucky English/Language Arts Teachers,

The Annual Kentucky Council of Teachers of English Conference will be held Friday, February 22nd (evening only starting at 5 PM) & and all day Saturday,  February 23rd, 2019 at the Embassy Suites in Lexington, KY.

The theme this year is Agents of Change: Liberation through Literacy.  We invite you to register for the conference here.  Proposals are no longer being accepted at this time. If you submitted a proposal by 10/31/18, you will be notified by 12/1/18 if your proposal has been accepted.

  • Friday registration begins at 4 pm with vendors setting up all day and ready to go for attendees as they arrive. 
  • Friday opening session with light appetizers, logistics, and message from the president – 5:30 pm
  • Message from KY Dept of Education – Micki Ray – 5:45 pm
  • Keynote with Barry Lane, Literacy Advocate & Educator
    • 6 pm
  • Engaging Friday sessions (three to choose from) will follow.
  • Saturday Morning the conference begins at 8:30 AM and ends at  3 pm.
    • Featured speakers include:
      • Christopher Bronke, English DC at Downers Grove North High School (IL), NCTE CEL Mentor, and National Blogging Collaborative Co-founder
      • Lauren Hill & Noah Klein, KY CTEPS Fellows, KY English Educators, and all-around amazing people
